Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods using a 44 tonne artic with a tipping trailer or moving floor. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to manage delivery schedules effectively. The ideal candidate will have experience with tipping or moving floor trailers and a proven track record as an artic driver.
Responsibilities
- Operate a tipping or moving floor artic lorry to transport goods to various locations in a timely manner.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe operating condition.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper securing of items for transport.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and complete necessary paperwork related to shipments.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while on the road.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays or problems.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures regarding safety and vehicle maintenance.
Experience
- Proven experience as a commercial driver with a valid HGV licence is essential.
- Experience driving tipping or moving floor artic lorries is preferred but not mandatory.
- Previous work as a tipping or moving floor driver is advantageous, demonstrating strong navigation skills and customer service abilities.
- A clean driving record, with no serious violations or accidents in the past three years.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings or late evenings as required by delivery schedules.
