We are seeking enthusiastic Prepping for Adulthood Mentors to join our team and deliver dynamic and engaging programs designed to equip young people with critical life skills.
About the Role
As a Prepping for Adulthood Mentor, you will facilitate sessions that help young people gain independence, confidence, and the tools they need to navigate adult life. Using a specially designed curriculum, you will work closely with participants to develop their skills in areas such as financial literacy, communication, time management, and more.

What you'll do
- Plan and deliver engaging, interactive sessions aligned with the Prepping for Adulthood curriculum.
- Mentor and support the young person to develop key life skills, fostering their independence and confidence.
- Adapt your approach to meet the unique needs and abilities of the young person.
- Provide feedback, encouragement, and guidance to help the young person achieve their goals.
- Track the young person’s progress and prepare reports on outcomes.
Key Topics Covered in the Program
- Financial Literacy: Budgeting, saving, understanding credit, and managing bills.
- Time Management: Planning, prioritizing tasks, and balancing responsibilities.
- Communication Skills: Effective speaking, listening, and relationship-building.
- Job Readiness: Writing CVs, job applications, and preparing for interviews.
- Health and Well-being: Managing stress, maintaining physical health, and self-care.
- Independent Living Skills: Cooking, cleaning, and maintaining a household.
We're looking for someone who has:
- A genuine passion for helping young people achieve their potential.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with students with SEN.
- 2+ years experience in mentoring, teaching, or youth work.
- The ability to engage and inspire young people.
- Organisational skills to manage session planning and reporting.
- Flexibility to adapt teaching methods to different learning styles and needs.
- The right to be self employed in the UK
