Security Officer
Cromwell hospital, London SW5 0TU
Bank Contract
£12.95 per hour (Shift patterns are normally 7am to 7pm or 7pm to 7am)
This role will be to cover any absences and holidays we have in the team. We ask candidates to be available Monday to Sunday just allow for any urgent cover we may need. Any shifts picked up will likely be for 12 hours at a time

Role Overview
As a Security Officer, you will respond to all requests for security services, operate systems and maintain accurate logs and reports. Follow processes and procedures and generally assuring the safety and welfare of all staff, patients, and visitors.
You’ll help us make health happen by:
Recognise and respond in an appropriate and proportionate manner to any situation which has the potential to threaten the safety, security or well-being of the hospital, its patients, visitors, and staff.
Maintain effective logs and records of activity. Promote, support, and encourage the seamless flow of information both to and from the Security team and between the security team and the hospital at large to be able to anticipate, rather than be reactive to, changing circumstances within the hospital.
Provide a physical security presence in and around the reception areas as directed by the Security Supervisor, or their designated deputy.
Ensure you present yourself for duty in a timely manner and are dressed and equipped to maintain and display at all times the highest professional standards.
Assist in the monitoring and control of access to the Cromwell Hospital premises. Administer the ID access control system, ensuring that all personnel gain access only to those parts of the premises that they have a genuine need and entitlement to access.
Ensure compliance with all Health and Safety and Environmental safety requirements.
Maintain the condition and ensure the suitability and integrity of all equipment issued for use.
Assist with regular inspections of emergency as well as other equipment used in the department, this includes first aid equipment within the security services so as to ensure its readiness at all times for use in the event of an emergency and or patient requirement.
To carry out regular internal and external patrols of all hospital premises.
Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:
Previous experience in a Security role – ideally hospital or hospitality security
Must have an SIA Licence
Customer service skills
Experience in CCTV operation is desirable
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
IT Literate – knowledge of Microsoft office and outlook
