About
I am a conscientious, well organised and motivated teacher. I constantly like to challenge myself, feeling that it is important for personal growth. I have worked across all key stages and consider myself adapatable and thorough in every new situation. I am a very thorough organiser, which is a key skill for teaching. I plan effectively, differentiating to suit pupils and I always consider the individual's needs. I am a clear communicator, and am experienced in dealing with pupils, staff and parents. I consider myself to be calm and very empathic in all situations. I write reports with effective communication, and record and administer internal and external tests confidently. My main role is of course safeguarding, which is of utmost importance to me.
More recently, I have worked as a School Liaison Officer for the Spectrum Project, Stori Cymru. During my time here, I have had to deal with lots of disclosures pertaining to child and domestic abuse. I have acted calmly to each situation, and recorded them following detailed safeguarding procedures. In my role, I have collaboratively researched and formed new lessons, delivered lessons on sensitive issues regarding healthy relationships, child abuse, domestic abuse, gender and equality and safety. My clear and calm manner has meant that I have quickly built trust with pupils who felt at ease to disclose within the lessons.
I have liaised with professionals from other wellbeing agencies as well as attended meetings to promote the project to schools.
I am conversant with using Microsoft packages, and always ready to learn new technology, as witnessed during the covid pandemic where it was necessary to develop new IT skills to quickly engage with pupils remotely.
I feel my many skills lend themselves to the position advertised and that I would enjoy the new challenge that the job offers
