I was working as a Sous Chef in a busy pub/restaurant I am responsible for preparing food in the Kitchen area and supervising the Kitchen porters who are also part of the team. I am trained and have completed all relevant food hygiene courses and am fully up to date with allergy processing and current safety standards.
Throughout out my time here I have worked independently for some shifts and on these occasions I would be responsible for managing and prioritising the incoming customer orders and preparing clean safe and tasty food in a busy environment ready for customers.
In addition to these duties I am responsible for maintaining health and safety standards are adhered to and maintained this includes stock rotation and correct date and ingredients labelling and managing the busy working environment to make sure the Kitchen is functioning to the highest possible standards.
Also previous to becoming a Chef I have worked as an IT Service, and Communications Technician I have dealt with customer queries and IT support calls on a service desk that would come in by email and telephone. I would prioritise calls and allocate service tickets to the technicians. I was able to communicate effectively.
Throughout my apprenticeship I have also worked in the roles in the Service Department for this family run business. These roles included installing and upgrading hardware and installing new computers for corporate customers at on-site visits with senior technicians. I would attend the site and set up the IT infrastructure with a senior technician and connect the client’s computers to the company servers. This would involve resolving issues with their internet connections and email.
I have also worked in the build area for the majority of my Apprenticeship where I have been offered the chance to work alongside technicians building Laptops and preparing these by doing full software installs for clients.
Also I worked as a Crew Member at a busy Restaurant providing customers with a positive experience. I have gained experiences in dealing with customers face to face and working as a part of a Team to make sure we provide the best possible customer service. Working in this forward-facing role presentation is everything and I am always well prepared, I am able to provide helpful and friendly advice to the clients. I have also been responsible for preparing orders and service at the drive thru area, here I was able to demonstrate my accuracy in preparing orders, and also managing my work load so that it was all completed to tight deadline.
