Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled LGV Class 1 Driver to join our client at their depot in Totton. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years commercial driving experience plus experience with container & fridge work where you will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of goods. This role requires a strong commitment to safety and adherence to all traffic regulations while providing excellent service to our clients.
Duties
- Operate flatbed lorries to transport goods to various locations.
- Ensure the safe loading and unloading of cargo, securing loads appropriately.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation as required.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Adhere to all road safety regulations and company policies while driving.
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries.
Qualifications & Experience
- Full UK Driving Licence (Maximum of 6 points - no DD/DR/IN endorsements
- DP World Card
- Minimum of 2 years commercial driving experience
- Experience with containers and fridge work
- Ability to operate various types of vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Shifts & Rates
Ongoing contract
Minimum 50 hours per week Mon-Fri
Days & Nights available - £19.50 p/hour
Saturdays - £20.50 p/hour
Sundays - £21.50 p/hour
