Are you a proactive and reliable individual with experience in facilities or maintenance? St Olave’s Prep School is looking for a Caretaker to work as part of a highly motivated and skilled team of staff who work extremely hard to ensure the pupils are at the heart of everything they do. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, security, and cleanliness of the school premises.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting in the daily upkeep and maintenance of the school premises.
- Ensuring classrooms, corridors, and communal areas are kept clean, tidy, and safe.
- Supporting with minor repairs (e.g., lighting, plumbing, general building maintenance).
- Supporting school events and activities by setting up and dismantling equipment as needed
- Overseeing heating, lighting, and alarm systems
- Conducting regular health and safety checks across the site.
- Ensuring the security of the school buildings and grounds
- Planning and co-ordinating works involving contractors during the holidays.
- Other duties as required to ensure the smooth operation of the school.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience in a similar facilities, caretaking, or maintenance role.
- Good understanding of health and safety regulations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- A positive, can-do attitude with a flexible approach to work.
- Good communication and interpersonal abilities
