Full time (37.5 Hours Per Week, Monday to Friday with 2 shift patterns – 7am to 3pm and 12pm to 8pm)

As a Ward Administrator, you will help facilitate the delivery of high-quality clinical services through the efficient coordination of activities within the medical Ward at the Cromwell Hospital and have responsibility for ensuring a safe, efficient clinical service with the assistance of the clinical leads and always ensure a continued and progressive service.
You’ll help us make health happen by:
To welcome all patients, visitors and consultants to the department in a professional, friendly, courteous and helpful manner, to assist in their patient care and provide the highest standard of customer care.
To have an efficient telephone manner in order to take and give accurate information.
Liaise regularly with Reservation and the Accounts Department to ensure a smooth flow of admissions, ensuring patient payments are in order prior to admitting to Unit.
To assist in the pre-admission process and take responsibility for obtaining cover on all sponsored cases, updating the records, referring and following up on queries as necessary.
Assist Patient Accounts by explaining financial agreements for guaranteed/sponsored and insured day cases and obtaining signed agreement.
Ensure costs are entered correctly and patients charged accordingly using the hospital system.
Co-ordinate department activities, including patient and referrer liaison tasks.
To actively encourage new business into the Ward.
To review and revise where necessary all administrative protocols.
Co-ordinate bookings for procedures with various internal and external hospital departments.
Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:
Administration experience within private healthcare
Computer literate – Word and Excel
Good communication and strong interpersonal skills.
Excellent telephone manner.
Excellent organisational skills.
Able to work on own initiative, prioritise work and meet deadlines.
Work collaboratively with colleagues.
Assertive, articulate and polite.
