Job Title: Employment Compliance Advisor
Contract: Full time, 37.5 hours, Permanent
Location: Kirkstall Forge, Leeds
Salary Banding: £24,000 - £27,200
About this role
As an Employment Compliance Advisor, you will deliver a professional and exceptional service to internal customers and stakeholders across Bupa. Your role will involve ensuring compliance with legislative, regulatory, and Bupa policy requirements related to employment compliance.
How you’ll help us make health happen:
- Background Screening – New Starters: Review referrals for adverse findings in pre-employment screening and provide advice on recruitment decisions.
- In Role Screening: Monitor ongoing criminal record checks for colleagues in clinical roles, maintain accurate records, and escalate adverse findings.
- Tracking and monitoring of the NMC register, professional qualifications/memberships.
- Support fitness and propriety assessments for senior leaders, maintain accurate records, and complete regulatory references.
- Support colleagues in completing conflict of interest declarations and maintain central records.
- Tax Legislation – IR35: Provide support and guidance on IR35 assessments and maintain accurate records.
- Redeployment: Support colleagues seeking redeployment due to redundancy, working closely with recruitment teams to identify suitable roles.
Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office programs
- Ability to work well in a team
- Experience in a customer-facing HR role
- Knowledge and experience of working in a regulatory environment, preferably within an HR/people role
- Knowledge and experience of Right to Work legislation
- Knowledge and experience of healthcare regulation or of FCA/PRA regulation in insurance
- Understanding of relevant employment legislation
- Experience in stakeholder management
