Job Title: Learning & Development Officer Location: London / Some Hybrid / Travel within the UK Full time / 37.5 hours per week Permanent Salary: Up to £55,000 Dependant on Experience. We’re looking for a Learning & Development Officer to join our Organisational Development team based in central London with travel to all HCA Healthcare UK Facilities. Our organisational development team support our colleagues to develop within the roles, they are in, or to broaden their experience and progress into a new area of the business alongside underpin their success into a more senior role. Supporting our colleagues to realise their goals and ambitions. The team strive to make a positive difference to both the colleague and patient experience every day through the design and delivery of a wide range of management, leadership, induction and interpersonal skills development support to help all HCA UK colleagues to learn and grow and be their best every day. As a Learning & Development Officer you will work closely with the Head of Leadership Development and Chief of Development (OD) to deliver the strategy, operational plans and agreed actions for Organisational Development. Partnering and Consulting with Senior Leadership and HR stakeholders in Hospitals and business areas across the network the Learning and Development Officer identifies, develops and delivers the learning and development key deliverables that meet agreed organisational priorities. The primary accountabilities of this role are: The design, facilitation (virtually and in-person) and evaluation of a broad range of end-end learning and development solutions including management, leadership and interpersonal skills to strengthen management, leadership and organisational capability. Building and fostering strong relationships through partnering and consulting with Senior Leadership and HR stakeholders to ensure development support is operationally and strategically aligned. Leading the apprenticeship, digital learning and performance management agenda including the management of partnerships with external training providers who deliver levy funded development support. This role will require travel and a minimum of three days in central London every week. Consequently, applicants should be located no more than a one-hour commute from central London and be prepared for frequent travel to Birmingham and Manchester. What you’ll do: Business Partnering & Consulting: Build and maintain strong relationships with facility HR and Senior Leadership Teams, understanding their priorities to align real-time learning and development support with your operational and strategic business priorities. Identify skills gaps, leadership needs, and opportunities for growth. Providing expert recommendations on designing and delivering tailored learning solutions to address challenges, realise opportunities and enable positive change. Development Support of our learning design and facilitation: Design, facilitate, and implement tailored, innovative end-end learning solutions including high-quality, evidence-based development programmes and resources for colleagues and managers across all levels, promoting leadership capabilities and professional growth. Facilitation (in-person and virtual) and evaluation of blended learning and development activities (including senior audiences) across all HCA UK facilities including: A suite of leadership and management programmes Corporate induction (every Monday) A wide range of bitesize interpersonal/ soft skills sessions Bespoke solutions to address organisational and facility challenges & opportunities Coaching and mentoring training Career Development Training Ensure processes are implemented and followed to measure business impact and return on investment of learning solutions which is then communicated to key stakeholders. Lead on our Apprenticeship Workstream: Develop and oversee the apprenticeship strategy in line with organisational priorities and external requirements. Managing the onboarding, and progression of apprentices, ensuring compliance with apprenticeship standards and provide ‘on-programme’ support to apprentices and their line managers. Building strong relationships with external training providers, ensuring high-quality delivery and monitoring outcomes. Lead on Digital Learning & performance Management Conversations Workstreams: Work with the Head of Leadership Development and Chief of Development (OD) to shape and align digital learning strategies with broader organisational and L&OD objectives. Leading on the design and implementation of engaging and interactive digital development support adapting to the evolving needs of the business or emerging technologies. Ensure process implementation and communicate this to stakeholders across the business. Performance Management: Supporting the development and refinement of performance management conversations framework, including appraisals, feedback processes, and alignment to career pathways, and talent development. What you’ll bring: A relevant degree or full CIPD Accreditation at level 5 or above. Experience or accreditation in coaching Significant career experience in the design and delivery of management and leadership programmes alongside induction and developmental support. To include remote and face to face facilitation. Ideally within healthcare. Exceptional abilities in managing stakeholders up to executive level and external training providers. Demonstrative career experience in the development of strategy and project management. Experience and understanding of how to develop and leverage learning management systems Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present clear, well-structured reports and briefs Flexibility and pragmatism ability to deal with ambiguity. Presents logical recommendations, aligning expert subject matter advice with business priorities A self-motivated, innovative thinker who is able to operate independently with a clear focus on results. Alongside working at pace. Experience of working within a large corporate business environment, ideally healthcare but not essential. Why HCA UK?
