Chemotherapy Day Unit Coordinator

Fixed Term Contract for 6 Months
£32,000 + Fantastic benefits
Full time (37.5 Hours Per Week, Shifts run Monday to Friday with various shift patterns 8am to 4pm, 9am to 5pm and 10am to 6pm

Role Overview
You will facilitate the delivery of high-quality clinical services through the efficient co-ordination of the activities within the Chemotherapy Day Unit at Cromwell Hospital. You will have responsibility for ensuring a safe, efficient clinical service with the assistance of the clinical leads and always ensure a continued and progressive service
You’ll help us make health happen by:
Welcome all patients, visitors, and consultants to the department in a professional, friendly, courteous, and helpful manner, to assist in their patient care and provide the highest standard of customer care.
Liaise with consultant’s secretaries/ PA’s with regards to obtain updated medical reports and other necessary investigations needed.
Scan medical reports, copy of consents, and other documents into the Oncology management system (Aria)
Ensure costs are entered correctly and patients charged accordingly using the hospital system.
Update ongoing oncology statistics needed in the department.
Liaise with patients and referrers regarding clinical procedures and investigations and ensure they are appropriately informed of precautions/risks.
Assist the Lead Nurse to ensure all staff are regularly appraised and have a training and development programme to improve skills, maximise potential and improve the standards of the service.
Participate in the future planning and development programmes in the hospital.
Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:
Experience within administration in a healthcare environment.
Strong communication skills. Written and verbal
Computer literate – Word, Excel, and Power point.
Good attention to detail
Able to work on own initiative, prioritise work and meet deadlines.
Enthusiastic with the desire to become involved and develop in role.
