The Online Platform team at Tesco provide the infrastructure and developer tooling for high profile online properties such as our Tesco.com homepage, Groceries website, and online payment portal.
As a Software Development Engineer III within Online Platform, you will be responsible for managing our Azure infrastructure and CI/ CD pipelines that power Online at Tesco.
- Provide ownership and leadership within Online Platform, providing technical insight, mentorship and support across the area.
- Provide accountability for the reliability of our infrastructure and associated pipelines, and able to contribute to the raising the quality bar of our codebases.
- Participate in various design and planning sessions and drive consistency and innovation across all the infrastructure teams within Online.
- Bring in the change mindset and collaborate with peers and stakeholders within and outside directorate.
- Provide the necessary ownership on resolution of production issues, drive the operational excellence.
- Proficiency in Python
- Experience running high throughput, highly available cloud infrastructure, preferably in Azure.
- Deep experience using Kubernetes, Redis, Git, GitHub Actions/ Azure DevOps.
- Experience deploying and configuring Kubernetes to run multiple workloads in an isolated, secure, fault redundant, scalable manner.
- Hands on experience using observability tools like New Relic, Splunk, Azure Monitor.
- Experience building reusable CI/ CD pipelines, used to run 1,000’s of builds a day by hundreds of engineers using tools like GitHub Actions/ Azure DevOps.
- Advocate of practising “Everything as Code”; Infrastructure as Code, Pipelines as Code, Observability at Code, using tools like Terraform.
- Experience configuring CDNs such as Akamai is a plus
